Buttercup has come a long way in 5 months but in the past 2 has generalized the buttons as a way to get our attention even if we are not at home. We forgot to latch her crate and she went looking for us. The course encouraged me to work more with her and the other dogs.
It actually took about 3 months until our first presses...but that was 2 years ago and Misty is doing great at 26 buttons. The bootcamp was a big help in getting her going. Her favorite button is Noise and her favorite button conbination is Dinner Later...she is a planner.
The buttons have been so much fun. My dog isn’t a huge “talker” but while I was out of town and my in laws were watching him, he used the buttons everyday!!! It was a great way for him to communicate to them who don’t know his routines.
I received the workbook but it’s in Chinese. I’m English speaking only. So this book is useless to me. I contacted company and they are sending me an English copy. 👍🏼
We had already done some target training, so it was a piece of cake! Bootcamp was really helpful for understanding what sequence of words we should try, and things like spamming...
Bootcamp idea is great! We missed good time for EST because it was difficult from europe to catch up! As well as we where confusied because of a lot of Information but we stay tuned and are faszinated and happy to be part of fluent pet world! As we are non fluent in english often it took time to undersand everything but we learned a lot
Sky got off to a great start. She asks for treats and puzzles but we have hit a wall. She rings the bells to go out, and will not push the outside button even though it was the second button presented. She often presses three such as shred, puzzle, ball and find it. Why isn't she picking the exact one she wants? While Boot camp was great, it didn't really help me solve the problem of going beyond this point. Tug and water never get presseed. Love Sky means getting pets and that is a rare one.... But if I say "love Sky" she comes for the head and ear rubs so she knows what it is. I hoped boot camp would help, but it didn't. It was quite a while ago. She is older and wiser now so I am ready to get serious with her talking. She has taken up digging holes outside so I know I need to use her brain more.
We are starting a trick class so I hope that encourages us to communicate more.
I didn't think the boot camp was addressing my level of progress or telling me exactly what to try next.

Hi Joann. Button Bootcamp was created as a way to help beginners get started. And it sounds like you are off to a great start! Please check out the other resources available to you in The FluentPet Community, such as FP101 which covers all types of modelling and how to shape a press. The Mentorship calls, such as "Help Interpreting Presses", "Non-Beginner Q&A" and "Picking The Perfect Words" might be very beneficial to you as well!
It’s too early to tell I think. We have had it for 3 weeks and our dog is not getting it. So we will see.
Store owner replied:
Hi Michaela. All learners press buttons at their own pace and in the grand scheme of things, 3 weeks is not all that long to be trying. And remember: a slow start is not a bad sign. In fact, your breakthrough could be right around the corner. Have you scheduled your free Button Bootcamp yet? If you don't see your invitation in your inbox, please reach out to our Customer Support Team by emailing info@fluent.pet. We're happy to help!
Over a month in & no results yet, staying consistent

Hi Ellen. Thank you for leaving your review. We're looking forward to seeing what your Learner can do!
We started out with 3 buttons - pet, cuddle and treat. Daisy picked up the concept quickly though doesn’t use her buttons unless I ask her to to as yet
Unfortunately, this course was not as successful as I had hoped. The training is heavily dog-focused, with live session educators consistently referring to all learners as 'dogs,' which felt exclusionary for cat owners. Additionally, the live coaching provided for cats and their owners was noticeably shorter in both duration and frequency compared to that for dogs. On a positive note, the pre-recorded modules were more balanced and helpful. If your learner is a cat, I recommend sticking with the Boot Camp and exploring cat-specific Instagram and TikTok button accounts, rather than investing $275 in this course.
